You say, “I am allowed to do anything”–but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. – 1 Corinthians 6:12
The Bible is full of music, musicians and music instruments (Gen 4:21, 2 Samuel 6:5). The book of Psalms is laden with charges to praise God with songs, singing and music instruments (Psalm 150:4). So we are sure that God isn’t against us enjoying music! In fact our primary business in heaven is worshiping and praising God (Revelations 4 :8 – 11). I hope they have fuji style music there as I have been practicing my alujo steps lol Continue reading “MUSIC & MOVIES: What should a Christian Listen to and Watch?”
Let me tell you a story about myself. I had a heavy weight in my heart! I felt a strong burden and I couldn’t explain it. I felt sober, like I was sad and repentant about something but I didn’t know what it was. So I rushed into my room which was surprisingly empty and I climbed up my bunk and cried my eyes out. I cried and cried and cried till nothing could come out anymore. Continue reading MUSIC, MOVIES, LANGUAGE: What should a Christian Say, Listen To and Do?
I’m going to be very honest. I am very lazy as concerning dressing up for church. I attend the first service (6:30am) of Covenant Christian Centre at the Yaba Centre, Lagos, Nigeria. The service is a maximum of 2 hours and 30 minutes long and the church is 10 minutes driving distance from my house. So most days I just don’t see the sense in me wearing a nice dress/suit and heels to church like I would to work. In fact, any Sunday you see me using make-up to church, I most likely have to go somewhere after service is over or am attending 2nd service by 8am. Continue reading “WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO CHURCH?”
Almost everyone is conversant with the fall of Man and how it was caused by Eve eating a fruit and Adam following suit. However, before every action there is a layer of thought that has gone ahead to form the basis of that action. Almost every sin in the world can be traced to DECEPTION – the belief of false truths and before anyone can be deceived 3 things need to be in place. Continue reading “3 Things Deceiving You!”
The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (NKJV) – James 5:16b
There are largely 2 types of Christians in the world;
Those who believe that when they have any need, God already knows and will provide it for them when he is ready.
This group further believe that if he hasn’t provided it, it’s because either it’s not his will or he is not ready i.e. it is not the right time. Therefore, they either stop asking for it or keep asking for years and years and years and maybe die with that problem/need because, well, nothing is promised and we should be grateful with just having life and being born again. If you have been a Christian for at least a day, I am sure you have heard the popular, clichéd phrase – It’s not by works!
Aha! That one phrase that answers all questions, queries and complaints. If you ask a sister why she decided to sleep over at her boyfriend’s house last weekend; she will say “it’s not by works so don’t judge me”. If you ask someone why they haven’t attended church in a while – it’s not by works. Ask someone why they are repeatedly not fasting – it’s not by works oo. Continue reading “Christian Works : Is it by works?”
Now before faith came, we were confined under the law, kept under restraint until faith should be revealed. So the law has been a servant to take us to Christ, so that we might have righteousness by faith. But now that faith is come, we are no longer under a servant for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith (Galatians 3:23-26)

Hi there! I haven’t posted anything on this blog for about 6 months now. I have been juggling work, study, ministry and personal life and I haven’t been doing very well at it but I am on my way! Also … Continue reading STOP! It’s Distracting You!
Many times in life, when horrible things happen to us instead of facing the enemy and challenging him for laying hands on our stuff; we direct all our questions, anger and complaints to God allowing the devil go un-blamed. We blame God and sometimes keep malice with him till we have somehow sorted it out by ourselves. It like God is only relevant when it’s all good and when it goes back we go and privately recover, away from God and return to him after we think we are fine. Continue reading Standing with God
As a single person (by single I mean not in a relationship or courtship), I have always had one major prayer: the prayer of companionship. I always ask God to bring someone into my life, not just so I can say I have a boyfriend (and people can stop asking me questions) but because I genuinely desire the companionship. I have friends, very close friends but you know it’s not the same as having that person that is just for you (winks), that person you know has your back no matter what, that person whose problem is to make sure you don’t have any problems (haha) Continue reading On Being Alone
