You say, “I am allowed to do anything”–but not everything is good for you. And even though “I am allowed to do anything,” I must not become a slave to anything. – 1 Corinthians 6:12
The Bible is full of music, musicians and music instruments (Gen 4:21, 2 Samuel 6:5). The book of Psalms is laden with charges to praise God with songs, singing and music instruments (Psalm 150:4). So we are sure that God isn’t against us enjoying music! In fact our primary business in heaven is worshiping and praising God (Revelations 4 :8 – 11). I hope they have fuji style music there as I have been practicing my alujo steps lol Continue reading “MUSIC & MOVIES: What should a Christian Listen to and Watch?”
Let me tell you a story about myself. I had a heavy weight in my heart! I felt a strong burden and I couldn’t explain it. I felt sober, like I was sad and repentant about something but I didn’t know what it was. So I rushed into my room which was surprisingly empty and I climbed up my bunk and cried my eyes out. I cried and cried and cried till nothing could come out anymore. Continue reading MUSIC, MOVIES, LANGUAGE: What should a Christian Say, Listen To and Do?
Almost everyone is conversant with the fall of Man and how it was caused by Eve eating a fruit and Adam following suit. However, before every action there is a layer of thought that has gone ahead to form the basis of that action. Almost every sin in the world can be traced to DECEPTION – the belief of false truths and before anyone can be deceived 3 things need to be in place. Continue reading “3 Things Deceiving You!”
If you have been a Christian for at least a day, I am sure you have heard the popular, clichéd phrase – It’s not by works!
Aha! That one phrase that answers all questions, queries and complaints. If you ask a sister why she decided to sleep over at her boyfriend’s house last weekend; she will say “it’s not by works so don’t judge me”. If you ask someone why they haven’t attended church in a while – it’s not by works. Ask someone why they are repeatedly not fasting – it’s not by works oo. Continue reading “Christian Works : Is it by works?”
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. – James 1:26 (NLT)
As Christians we commonly know and follow biblical guidelines on most areas of our life; but how many of us knew there are guidelines to how we use our mouth and our speech? I for one knew there should be but I never actually took them to heart or seriously until one day when in the place of prayer I felt God convicting me about my speech. As much as it’s important we know when to speak and what to say; it’s also important we know when to be silent – there is a time to speak and a time to be silent (Ecc 3:17)

But if you remain in me and my words remain in you, you may ask for anything you want, and it will be granted! – John 15:7 (NLT)
Many times as Christians, we get hung up on whether something is God’s will for us or not; you hear people saying I want this but I don’t know whether its God’s will for me or Let’s say I pray for something and I didn’t get it, i immediately assume that maybe its not God’s will for me. Many times in making more serious decisions such as picking a spouse, choosing a job or deciding what career to go into we are held up at knowing whether something is the will of God or not. Continue reading “What is the will of God”
The Christian walk is commonly referred to as the Christian race and in a race we know that there are many contestants, 1 winner and 1 prize. We also would agree that some runners start preparing for the race years before the actual race. Some of us are just wearing the Christian Jersey and standing in the sidelines. You need to get in the game and win! Continue reading Get In The Game
The greatest enemy of the hunger for God is not poison but apple pie. It is not the banquet of the wicked that dulls our appetite for heaven but endless nibbling at the table of the world…John Piper
It’s the last week of January, a month that is typically associated with fasting in some churches. Though I have finished my own fasting but while I was studying the Bible this month about fasting, I noticed something: how powerful food actually is.
Here is what I found; Continue reading “The Power of Food”
