Early this morning, I was praying in the Spirit when a song by Elevation Worship titled ‘What Would You Do’ came on. It is my usual practice to pray in tongues to a background of Christian music so this was normal and while praying I was following the song’s lyrics. I couldn’t keep it until I burst out on the floor, on my face, ugly crying.
The song simply asks, “What would you do if he walks into the room? How would you shout if he walks into the room?”
The song then goes on to say that he is already in the room and we should start doing what we do if God suddenly walked into the room where we are. The song that proceeded to tell us who he was – our savior is in the room, our helper is in the room, our provider is in the room etc. You can listen to it here.
Imagine it for a second, no matter what you are going through, imagine God just bursting through the door and appearing before you. How do you think you would react?
I had just spent sometime studying the creation account and how God created time out of nothing so you can imagine the overwhelm that came upon me.
The God that made the stars suddenly appears in my room?! What?! My savior – the one who was bruised for me walks in the room with his scarred legs? My helper who brought me from nothing and is taking me to glory appears in this room? What?!
We give honor to people when we see them, we stand up for some and bow down to others but how would you react if God was in your room?! The only way I think to react was to lay down flat before him.
Now while I was worshiping, the Holy Spirit simply said something that blew my mind…he said,
“He is always in the room! He didn’t just walk in; he has been here all along”.
My mind was blown. Don’t get me wrong, I am a Christian I know he is always with us blah blah but it was never so real as today.
The fact that he is always in every room with me. He goes before me into the room, walks into it with me and comes in after me. Let that settle with you for a second.
Any room you enter into in, he is always in the room with you. The examination room, the interview room, the abortion room, your bedroom, your boss’s office, in the bus, in the car, on the plane, in the bank, in the bathroom – he is always there. As long as you are in the room, God is always in the room.
Hebrews 13:5b-6; because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”
So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my helper; I will not be afraid.
What can mere mortals do to me?”
I have no need to fear anything because I know that I don’t walk alone. Even as I sit here and type this, he is standing right with me. Who and what do I have to fear when I know that he is always in every room with me?!
Its not until he walks into the room physically that I should acknowledge his presence with reverence as many of us do. We go to church and claim to be in presence and thus act right – we dress right, talk right and do the right things and when we leave church, we believe we have left the presence of God and thus are free to be ourselves. If what you wear to church and what you wear on a day to day basis are very different, you are guilty of this.
If you are like this and you are born again, I beg you to reconsider because God is always in the room with you – he is there with you when you walk into the club, sleep around, watch all sorts of impure things, shame people on social media etc. God is no longer dwelling in buildings as he did in the old testament. He is always with you here and now.
John 4:23 NIV “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Now to the wanting, the person seeking a miracle you also need to realize that he is always in the room. You don’t have to wait until churches reopen to get your healing or deliverance or salvation. As long as your born again, you are forever in the presence of God and he is in the room with you right now. Your healer, your protection, your provider, your help is in the room with you right now – how would you respond? What would you do? Your miracle is with you right now, press in. You don’t have to be like the man by the pool any longer, your healer is in the room with you right now!
John 5: 5- 9 NIV – One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, “Do you want to get well?” “Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Then Jesus said to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.”At once the man was cured; he picked up his mat and walked.
Your healing, your miracle is accessible right now. You only need to grasp it by faith. Praise God.
I looked into some ways in which people of old reacted when God literally walked into their rooms
Moses – Exodus 3:1-6
When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, “Moses! Moses!”
And Moses said, “Here I am.”
“Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” 6Then he said, “I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.
Isaiah – Isaiah 6: 1- 7
In the year that King Uzziah died, I saw the Lord, high and exalted, seated on a throne; and the train of his robe filled the temple. Above him were seraphim, each with six wings: With two wings they covered their faces, with two they covered their feet, and with two they were flying. And they were calling to one another:
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty;
the whole earth is full of his glory.”
At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.
“Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.”
His disciples – John 20:19 – 22
On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jewish leaders, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.
God bless you. Please listen to the song, it’s titled What Would You Do by Elevation Worship. You would be thoroughly blessed.
