If you have been a Christian for at least a day, I am sure you have heard the popular, clichéd phrase – It’s not by works!
Aha! That one phrase that answers all questions, queries and complaints. If you ask a sister why she decided to sleep over at her boyfriend’s house last weekend; she will say “it’s not by works so don’t judge me”. If you ask someone why they haven’t attended church in a while – it’s not by works. Ask someone why they are repeatedly not fasting – it’s not by works oo. Now before faith came, we were confined under the law, kept under restraint until faith should be revealed. So the law has been a servant to take us to Christ, so that we might have righteousness by faith. But now that faith is come, we are no longer under a servant for in Christ Jesus you are all sons of God, through faith (Galatians 3:23-26)

Hi there! I haven’t posted anything on this blog for about 6 months now. I have been juggling work, study, ministry and personal life and I haven’t been doing very well at it but I am on my way! Also … Continue reading STOP! It’s Distracting You!
Many times in life, when horrible things happen to us instead of facing the enemy and challenging him for laying hands on our stuff; we direct all our questions, anger and complaints to God allowing the devil go un-blamed. We blame God and sometimes keep malice with him till we have somehow sorted it out by ourselves. It like God is only relevant when it’s all good and when it goes back we go and privately recover, away from God and return to him after we think we are fine. Continue reading Standing with God
As a single person (by single I mean not in a relationship or courtship), I have always had one major prayer: the prayer of companionship. I always ask God to bring someone into my life, not just so I can say I have a boyfriend (and people can stop asking me questions) but because I genuinely desire the companionship. I have friends, very close friends but you know it’s not the same as having that person that is just for you (winks), that person you know has your back no matter what, that person whose problem is to make sure you don’t have any problems (haha) Continue reading On Being Alone
Some weeks back, someone asked me a question – Should I give firstfruits?
I was raised in a Christian home and in a particular church that believed in giving of the First fruits offering and everyone who has told me about first fruits or asked about it as used this one scripture Proverbs 3:9 Honour the LORD with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase (KJV). However, I haven’t heard anyone teach about the origin, basis and reason for this offering. I endeavour to do that today and with that answer the question above. Last month, the study topic for the fellowship was The Book of John. We read and studied this gospel throughout the month and came together during TGIF to share our thoughts and lessons learnt. It was the longest TGIF yet and it was very interesting. I shared 8 key lessons from this gospel and read the article to see my notes and commentaries. Continue reading Lessons from The Book of John
If you claim to be religious but don’t control your tongue, you are fooling yourself, and your religion is worthless. – James 1:26 (NLT)
As Christians we commonly know and follow biblical guidelines on most areas of our life; but how many of us knew there are guidelines to how we use our mouth and our speech? I for one knew there should be but I never actually took them to heart or seriously until one day when in the place of prayer I felt God convicting me about my speech. As much as it’s important we know when to speak and what to say; it’s also important we know when to be silent – there is a time to speak and a time to be silent (Ecc 3:17)

In July, my church announced a 10-day mid-year fast that would be 4 days – breaking with food, 3 days – break with fruit, 3 days – break with only water. I was involved in that fast and here is what I learnt from it.
